Laser Treatments
Staying youthful as you age doesn’t have to be a dream, nor does it mean that you have to go under the knife.

Lasers have been used for aesthetic purposes for over 40 years.
There are two basic groups of lasers used for cosmetic skin treatments: ablative and non-ablative. Ablative lasers physically vaporize the top layer of skin to peel, while non-ablative lasers work within the skin targeting specific cells without peeling or otherwise damaging the top layers. At Health Horizons we use non-ablative lasers.
Below are the 4 laser types of non-ablative lasers we use. Each have different abilities but work in a similar way. The light inside the machine has different filters to separate wavelengths. This filtered wavelength is concentrated into a precise beam of light which can be used to address specific concerns within skin. Each laser is attracted to and absorbed by different cells within the skin.
All laser treatments are generally considered comfortable: expect anything from a pricking feeling to a sensation like the flick of an elastic band, and warm massage like feeling with our Forma treatment. However, know that our laser treatments are generally fast and efficient.
Lasers are a safe and effective means of stimulating collagen and evening out skin tone, and can be used to help everything from sun damage, to acne scars and wrinkles— and often with little to no downtime.
Morpheus 8

Depending on your Morpheus8 treatment regime you can expect to have between 1-3 sessions. Visible results can be seen within a few days, but the most noticeable results appear typically after three weeks. Improvements continue up to three months after treatment.
Patients should moisturize the treatment area and avoid direct sun exposure. We also recommend using a good, broad spectrum sunscreen every day.
Since patient downtime is minimal, makeup can be applied 1 to 2 days after the treatment. Patients should expect to see micro lesions a few days after treatment and slight redness for up to 1 week depending on treatment parameters.
Morpheus8 can be used in combination with other treatments. It depends on the nature of the other treatment as to whether that treatment can be done within the same session, or within a few days after.
Lumecca
Lumecca uses powerful intense pulsed light (IPL) to target and treat pigmented and vascular lesions.In just 1-3 sessions Lumecca improves the appearance of:
- Age spots (red/brown pigmentations)
- Vascular lesions such as facial telangiectasias (spider veins) and poikiloderma
- Rosacea (redness)
- Freckles
- Sun damage
During treatment there will be a bright flash of light that may feel like the snap of a rubber band. Redness and warming of the skin are typical after treatment and usually subsides within an hour. Over the next 24-48 hours you may see a darkening of pigmented spots, but within 7-10 days afterwards the pigmented lesions flake off, leading to a more even skin tone. After treating vascular lesions you may see the vein blanch and disappear or a color change in the vessel which dissipates after a week.
An improved appearance of skin tone can be noted after the first session. Additional sessions provide even better results. Your particular treatment regimen depends on the severity of skin damage, skin type ( we cannot treat darker skin tones with IPL), type of treatment (vascular vs sun damage).
The skin will continue to look younger and more brilliant over time with most visible results after 1-2 weeks. Having multiple sessions will improve the final result.

Forma

Forma is essentially painless procedure with no downtime. Slight redness in the treatment area is common post-procedure, which subsides within a few hours.
It is recommended that weekly sessions are performed over a six-week period. Individuals with mild laxity may be treated in few sessions with more weeks between each treatment.
